Canadian teenager Rebecca Middleton was raped and murdered 25 years ago today while on vacation in Bermuda. The crime made headlines around the world. The killer(s) were never brought to justice. Little has changed in the Bermuda justice system since then. I should know. I served as Senior Crown Counsel and the Solicitor-General of Bermuda (acting) many years later. Many of the players went on to hold prominent positions in the Bermuda justice system.
